Energy meridians.

Acupuncture meridians are the most widely recognised symbol which is unique to traditional Taoist Chinese medicine. The background image courtesy of NASA taken from the International Space Station above the South China Sea represents the 'Karman line' or the boundary between the Earth's atmosphere and outer space.

Cranes exercising their wings.

Cranes have been known in China since ancient times as symbols of longevity. These white naped cranes are threatened by extinction in China so this particular pair have become part of a conservation program in England. The Pine tree stays evergreen even in the winter snow, and the willow bends with the harsh North wind.

The Crane is an important stance in T'ai Chi and K'ai Men as well as it's use in kung fu. The Crane presses it's leg into it's abdomen to increase pressure and help it to stimulate digestion and live longer. In the background Cranes fly across the sunset over Jade Dragon Snow mountain.

Seahorses

The seahorse is the symbol for the Lee style of Taoist Arts, it is the only example of the male incubating and giving birth to it's young. They engage in a courtship dance with their partners changing colour and swimming side by side. Some species are known to be loyal to their mates for life. Seahorses have recently been found off the coast of Cornwall.
